Everyone on their feet for Tradfest's rousing opening gig

Many thanks to Lankum and Brìghde Chaimbeul who opened the Festival in style last night. The Queen’s Hall was reverberating with rowdy cheers at the end of the gig. A much deserved standing ovation brought Dublin’s finest back on to the stage for a rousing rendition of the Irish Jubilee.

But the night was not over, with a great number of folk heading through to the bar for a instrumental session that morphed into a mass sing song. Thanks to everyone who joined in and contributed to such a fantastic community atmosphere.

We hope to continue that feeling tonight at Traverse Theatre Bar when all are invited to bring their instruments and voices for a session after the hotly anticipated What A Voice concert featuring Kathleen MacInnes, Fiona Hunter and Kaela Rowan.

See you soon!
