Tradfest thanks
Now the dust is starting to settle and we’re taking stock, one thing we really want to do is to thank everyone involved in making the festival such a great success this year, especially our volunteers.
Thanks are due to our fantastic 'artist liaison' team: Eva Corser, Zoe Sanderson, Rona Young, Diane Moulin and Edie Gremson, financial whiz Larry Morris, video crew Graham Clark and Devika Ponnambalam, and Ralph MacGillivray who helps with online promotion all year round. We couldn't have done it without you.
Of course, thanks are also due to our technical team – Graham Bodenham and Craig Gaskin who attend to the Soundhouse sound at The Traverse all year round – and our brilliant PRs Emma Henderson and Róisín O'Brien. And thank you to Phoebe Crosbie who nipped round town with Douglas to help deliver flyers and posters.
Many thanks to our venue partners – The Traverse, The Queen's Hall and The Scottish Storytelling Centre – who have been extremely generous with their spaces and expertise. Thanks to Jamie Chambers of the Folk Film Gathering and Donald Smith and Daniel Abercrombie of TRACS, Luath Press and all those who presented their own shows during Tradfest.
Thanks to all the pupils of the City of Edinburgh Music School and the young musicians who came to the Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin taster session at the Traverse, plus Savourna Stevenson and John Reischman and the Jay Birds who gave those young people the benefit of their expertise.
Finally, thanks to our funders – Creative Scotland, the City of Edinburgh and the Royal Military Tattoo, sponsor Edinburgh First, and Mark Thomson of Glenfiddich and Mary MacMaster who entertained at a fabulous fundraiser just before the festival started.
