Tonight in the Traverse Bar: Tern
For the last for our TRAV LATES, we welcome Scandi-Scottish band Tern to the Traverse Bar tonight (Saturday 6 May). Named after the migrating bird of the Nordic regions, Tern is a 5-piece band composed of Rose Logan (Scotland – Fiddle), Kristina Leesik (Sweden – Fiddle), Amy Laurenson (Scotland – Piano), Lea Søndergaard Larsen (Denmark – Bodhran), and Miguel Girão (Portugal – Guitar).
Tern crafts contemporary arrangements of traditional and original material, which draw on the music of Shetland, Mainland Scotland and Scandinavia.
Exploring the connections between the music of their homelands, Tern challenges listeners, inviting audiences on an exciting, cross-cultural journey, deeply rooted in a Nordic soundscape.
Tern won the Danny Kyle Open Stage 2023 at Celtic Connections.
As you emerge from our Traverse 1 gig with Dirk and Amelia Powell this evening, Tern will be in the bar ready to entertain, at about 10:30pm.
Don’t forget, if you are under 26 you can get tickets for Zoe Bestel in Traverse 2 at 6:30pm and Dirk and Amelia in Traverse 1 at 8:15pm for just £8 each if you book in person at the theatre. Music in the bar is free.
TRAV LATES are in the Traverse Bar, 10 Cambridge Street, Edinburgh EH1 2ED
