This screening will feature a special mini-concert from celebrated folk musician Alastair Roberts.
An adaption of Alan Garner’s visionary novel, Red Shift explores strange, uncanny resonances between three different time periods in English history: following a group of Roman invaders in the 2nd century, a tense siege during the English Civil War, and the story of young lovers Tom and Jan in the present day. Based on the ballad of Tam Lin, Red Shift tells three magical, complexly intersecting love stories about echoes of the past within the present; three separate paths whose stories all converge around Mow Cop castle in Cheshire.
