REMEMBERING DOUGLAS EADIE 2: AN CEASNACHADH & HYDRO DAYS

Our second session celebrating the life and work of Douglas Eadie begins with a showing of An Cesnachadh – An Interrogation of a Highland Lass (2000) (Directed by Mike Aleaxandar)

This is a docu-drama about the taking of the Stone of Destiny from Westminster Abbey on Christmas morning of 1950 by a band of Scottish nationalists. The Stone of Scone is a holy relic (supposed to have been Jacob's Pillow when he dreamt of the Ladder to Heaven) on which the old kings of Scotland were crowned. It was stolen by Edward Longshanks - of Braveheart fame - in 1296 and had remained at the Abbey since. Starring Kathleen Macinnes (pictured), Ian MacRae and Dolina MacLennan

The film will be followed by a Q&A with Kathleen Macinnes, Dolina MacLennan and Kenny MacRae.

A showing of Hydro Days follows the Q&A.

At the Scottish Storytelling Centre

Tickets: £8

Event starts: 1pm (3 hours)

A Folk Film Gathering event, in partnership with Edinburgh Tradfest, supported by Screen Scotland.
