Programme launched with performance from two of the festival's stars

Surrounded by funders, sponsors, partners and journalists Edinburgh Tradfest launched the 2019 programme with a statement of ambition – to emulate the success of Glasgow’s Celtic Connections with a festival of traditional music for the entire city. Speeches by Festival Director Douglas Robertson, TRACS’s Donald Smith and Alan Morrison from Creative Scotland were followed by a sparky impromptu performance by fiddler Adam Sutherland who’ll be performing at the Queen’s Hall on Friday 3 May, and percussionist James Mackintosh who is part of the What A Voice show at The Traverse on Saturday 27 April.
